MasterCard PayPass will let Hess customers easily tap their PayPass-enabled MasterCard card or device on a PayPass-accepting reader at check-out. Moreover, consumers don’t need to sign receipts for purchases under $25, that speeds up the transaction. This level will be advanced to $50 as of October 16th.

As of second quarter 2009, MasterCard had issued nearly 61 million MasterCard PayPass cards or devices, that can be used at over 153,000 merchant locations globally.
